Did You Know? Old Bees…

We are *BIG* bee fans and are always amazed to learn about the interesting things they do, whether in their daily lives, quirks to particular species, or for survival. 🐝

The little bees that sit on flowers in the evening are old bees. They don’t return to the hive…instead they spend their last night of life on the flowers. If they happen to see another day, they continue their daily routine of bringing pollen or nectar back to the hive. Bees do not want to die in the hive because they don’t want to burden the others in their colony. 🌸

When you see an elderly bee as the night rolls in, be sure to thank them!

For pollinating our food. 75% to be exact!
For honey. Mmmm!
For pollen. So beneficial!
For building homes for other insects.
For just being cool.
