Oriental Poppy

FLOWER SPOTLIGHT: ORIENTAL POPPY ๐Ÿฅ€

The Oriental Poppy is a common sight to Colorado landscapes in late Spring or early Summer. They are a striking orange-ish / red hue that pops (pun intended!) against the greens and browns of our mountainsides.

They prefer colder climates (USDA zones 3-7), which makes the Centennial State perfect for growing! Nature lovers from near and far head up to the high country to witness the short-lived bloom. ๐Ÿฅฐ

This variety of poppy also comes in a variety of pinks and white, and they all have the dramatic black center.
