Bee Food
DID YOU KNOW?
Bees are ENTIRELY dependent on flowers for food! Their food comes in the form of nectar and pollen, as well as honey, which is modified nectar.
This is one of the reasons why we are eco-friendly with all of our practices. Many (well, most) yard treatments are extremely harmful to bees and other pollinators.
🐝
Neonicotinoids are systemic chemicals that are absorbed into plants, making the ENTIRE plant toxic, including its pollen, nectar, and fruit. They can also be transported to surface water, which can harm aquatic invertebrates.
Neonicotinoids are highly toxic to pollinators,
beneficial insects, and can linger in soil for years, causing long-term harm. 😯
>>> Where are neonicotinoids being used?
Agriculture: Hundreds of millions of acres of agricultural land, including crops like corn, soy, wheat, apples, blueberries, almonds, squash, pumpkins, cucumbers, and tomatoes. They can be sprayed or injected directly onto plants, or applied as coatings on seeds.
Urban landscapes: Lawns, gardens, golf courses, and ornamental plant nurseries.
Without bees, life on Earth will not continue. They are CRUCIAL to our food chain.
